Booking a boudoir session — especially your first — comes with a lot of questions. What do I wear? What if I'm nervous? What if I don't like how I look? What if I've never done anything like this before?
I've heard them all. And I want you to know before you ever walk through my door: you are in good hands. Most of my clients have never done a boudoir session before. That's not a problem — that's exactly who I'm here for right here in Northeast Pennsylvania.
This isn't that cookie cutter kind of boudoir.
Real bodies. Real light. Real women.
You've spent your entire life
longing to look like someone else.
I refuse to hand you one more
impossible version to chase.
That defeats the purpose of what we do here. You won't find heavy retouching here. No overly done sets. No makeup that makes you look like someone else. No cookie cutter poses pulled from a Pinterest board.
What you will find is you — the real, daily, Tuesday morning version of you — photographed in a way that makes you wonder why you ever thought you needed to be anything different.

Before Your Boudoir Session
Once you book, you won't be left wondering what to do next. You'll receive an in-depth prep guide that walks you through everything — what to bring, what to wear, how to prepare, and how to get your mind right. I'm also available to help with wardrobe selection so you're not standing in front of your closet the night before having a panic attack. Been there.
When You Arrive
There's no rushing here. When you arrive at the studio, we slow down first. Coffee, tea, snacks and anything you may have forgotten are waiting for you. We'll spend time connecting, settling into the space, and talking about what brought you here and what you're hoping to feel by the time you leave.
We'll talk about posing, address any nerves, and if there are mindset blocks or past experiences shaping how you see yourself right now — we'll talk about those too. Nothing is off limits. This is your space.
During Your Session
You do not need modeling experience. You do not need to know how to pose. You do not need to feel confident yet — that's what we're here to build.
Every boudoir session at Allison Smith Imagery in NEPA is fully guided from start to finish. I'll direct your body, your movement, your expression — all of it. Your only job is to show up. We'll have your favorite music playing, real conversation happening, and before you know it you'll forget you were ever nervous.
I've photographed women who were shaking in the parking lot before they walked in. Every single one of them left different. That part never gets old.
After Your Session
After your boudoir session wraps up we'll take a few minutes to come down from the experience — because it is an experience — before heading out. You'll receive preview images within 24-48 hours so you don't have to sit with anticipation too long.
Your full viewing gallery will be delivered within 2-4 weeks, with expedited options available if needed. That's when you'll select your included images and have the opportunity to add any additional artwork, products, or keepsakes. (Candles, necklaces, albums, polaroids— oh my!)
